I always cook, to begin with..no matter where or what kind of function... Kalau ada kenduri kendara pun selalunya end up kat dapur instead of buat bunga telur ke...kemas rumah ke...Masa mula-mula kawin, mertua buat kenduri kawin anak sedara (rasanya?)..mula-mula join geng bunga telur, tapi ntah cam mane end up kat bangsal belakang rumah tolong makcik-makcik buat pajeri nenas. Tak lama lepas tu (lama gak la, dah ada anak 3), masa kenduri kahwin adik ipar, mak mertua buat lawak mintak tolong masak lauk pengantin...gelabah jugak, tapi join venture dengan mak de, menjadi jugak akhirnya.
Masak di rumah dengan masak on the go (outdoor trips), is something different. Bila memasak kat 'field' ni, simplicity is the key. My first exprience was masa masuk ROTU, tapi yang tu very minimal sebab semuanya dah di pack. My really first experience was masa trip ke Taman Negara Pahang bersama-sama USM's Biology Student Society. Masa tu I was not assigned to the masak group, tapi sebab tak tahan tunggu lama, entah apa diaorang buat...kelaparan menunggu..
My truly experiences cook outdoor is during field trips while I worked with UMT marine biotech group. Masak kat pulau...very valuable experiences and because we were at the island, fresh resources aplenty.....
Muka Dapur (with Ina and Ika)
As the series of event masak-memasak continue, I picked up considerable good skill especially dalam masakan berlauk and couples of desserts, but my cakes are far from perfect, except for kek gula hangus and kek chocolate...but after we moved here in Scotland, cakes become my new obsession (not too obsessed), maybe because tak berapa confident nak beli kek kat kedai which always have elements of liquer in one way or another, tambah pulak kat sini banyak bahan yang sesuai untuk buat kek and dessert...
Restrictions, stresses and pleasure creates creativity. Restriction due to tak boleh nak beli jer..Stresses;...you name it... phd in medicine, kids, husband, peers, language, weather; Pleasure...some people says if God does not make food for both pleasure and necessity, human will die of eating (some do really die...).
